Ten Materials Facts Most Buyers Learn Too Late

These are the lessons that come from years of sourcing, shipping, and handling complaints — the kind of knowledge that usually costs money to acquire.

1. “Drop-proof” isn’t a material property — it’s a design result. Two cases made of identical TPU can perform completely differently in drop tests. The difference is corner reinforcement, thickness distribution, and how the frame wraps the phone. Judge the design, not just the material name.

2. Clear cases yellow from the inside, not the outside. The yellowing you see is polymer degradation throughout the material, accelerated by heat from wireless charging. A clear case that stays clear after heavy wireless charging use is using genuinely UV-stabilized material.

9. Suppliers who answer material questions are the ones with good materials. Suppliers who say “don’t worry, it’s good quality” usually can’t say what’s in it.
